Richard couldn’t keep his eyes open. He collapsed on the carpet, holding his glass of red wine.
“Did you just drug him?” Martha asked.
“Yes,” Phoebe replied.
“Why?”
“To brainwash him more easily, duh!”
“But he’s your friend!”
“And your birthday is coming up… unless you don’t want the present, that is.”
“Carry on then.”
How this story came to be
Feeling a bit tired and in need of a good night’s sleep, so this will be the only update of the day. This piece was improvised just now to keep the challenge going. Yes, I’m having trouble keeping my eyes open myself right now.
Another thing worthy of note is that this piece is yet another one where no trimming or editing proved necessary. I got the 55 words on the first try. It’s always fun when that happens. Have a good weekend.
