Trevor held his paycheck aloft as he exited the office, and walked mechanically toward the building’s entrance.
A pair of blue eyes awaited him outside, mesmeric reminders that his life belonged to another.
“Here’s your money, Goddess,” he declared.
“Good slave,” his hypnodomme replied. “See you next month.”
He nodded in silence, ecstatic to serve.
How this story came to be
No particular source of inspiration. It’s the end of the month and that’s usually when most workers get paid around here. Certain professions, as well as government officers, are an exception but the majority of employees throughout the country receive the fruits of their labor on the last day of each month. Thinking of that, I scribbled a few pieces revolving around money and wrote down the one I thought would make a suitable contribution to this challenge.
The first month of year 8 is down. Eleven more to go.
