Today, we have a piece of micro-fiction about two sisters and  terrible secret that binds them.

No Beauty Without a Catch

They say there’s no beauty without a catch. And, sometimes, the “catch” is eight feet tall, has two heads, and loves to feast on human flesh.

“This is my baby sister,” Maribel said, pointing at the shackled creature in the bowels of the castle. “As you can, she was born a little… different. But don’t worry, she’ll never hurt you, unless you do it first, and you’re never going to do that, are you, darling?”

Tristan gulped. “Are you really expecting me to live happily ever after with you after you’ve showed me this abomination?”

“But of course. It’s either that or not live at all, darling,” Maribel grinned. “Now, let’s get out of here. I can’t wait to show you the rest of the castle.

She led him up a spiraling staircase whose steps were splattered with blood. He wondered if the baby sister had “helped” with the decoration.
