Reborn
Richard looked at Lara. She was enveloped in a heavenly glow.
“Did I die?” he asked.
“A part of you,” she replied. “You don’t feel like resisting my commands anymore, do you?”
“Why would I? You’re my Goddess. I love you.”
“As you should. Welcome to your new life.”
He kneeled to kiss her feet.
How this story came to be
Knowing I almost died still gets to me because it hasn’t been that long. However, we all experience metaphorical deaths every once in a while, and this is one of them. There are worse fates than being brainwashed into goddess worship, right?
