She’s Gone
Geoff couldn’t stop crying.
“She’s gone, Mike,” he said, his eyes red and swollen.
“Who’s gone?” his friend asked.
“My Mistress. She left and took my heart and mind with her.”
“She’ll be back, dude. It will be all right.”
“I wish that were true…”
Geoff sat on the cold floor, longing for the impossible.
How this story came to be
This has been a rough month for me and it got worse today when I had to say goodbye to my oldest dog. A part of me died with her and I feel hollow and empty. All my words are sad and so is this piece.
