She Was Right
“You are trapped in an Unbreakable Vine and can’t move,” David declared.
“Silly boy… I’m wearing the Bracelet of Hypnotism and compel you to undo the spell,” Marcia giggled.
“Come on! You never got that during the campaign!”
“Says who? You’re entranced and confused.”
David dropped the dice and kneeled before her. She was right.
How this story came to be
I have a list of movies saved on my laptop. I’m going to try to watch them throughout the year. I’m not sure if I’ll get to them all or not, but we’ll see.
Today, I sat down to watch 2023’s Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and had a fun time. It’s a humorous fantasy movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously and all the characters were likable for the most part. Now, I never played D&D in my life and I doubt I ever will, so my knowledge of that particular universe is sparse. I do remember watching the 2000 movie with Jeremy Irons in the theater for some reason. Don’t ask me how that happened or what the plot was though.
Anyway, inspired by today’s movie session, I wrote this. Would you play this game knowing you’d lose no matter what?
