Horrible Dream
“NO!” Brandon screamed.
“What’s wrong, baby?” Sheila comforted him.
“I had a horrible dream,” he replied, shaking. “You weren’t yourself. You had been replaced by a… thing with tentacles and…”
Something slimy slithered around his neck as she smirked,
“Go on.”
The last thing he saw was a giant sucker latching on to his brain.
How this story came to be
I had to take a sick day because I was in no condition to leave the house. I still feel like shit following the passing of my beautiful girl, but also because of the trauma of past experiences. When my first dog died in 2014, I had nightmares for months, horrible visions in which my sweet boy asked me why I had killed him. I had a hard time snapping out of it and it was almost a miracle I didn’t stay stuck in depression back then. I don’t want it to happen again, but I had nightmares last night once more and I’m not looking forward to hitting the sack today. Everything still hurts a lot.
While I try to pull myself back together, I need to do something, so I’m going to try to keep the challenge going at least. Some of my writings may come out dark though because my thoughts are pretty dark as well.I just don’t want to have bad dreams again.
