Bonus Story – Coming for Us All

Bonus Stories are special features posted at the end of each month (depending on total pledges) and available to all patrons from the get-go. This month’s piece is entitled Coming for Us All. David falls under the control of an extraterrestrial parasite who wants to take him to its queen. A sci-fi, horror mind control story.

David was a liar. Not a pathological one, not a person who distorted the truth with evil intent, but someone who enjoyed outlandish stories, and embellishing his actions to look good even if only for a moment or two. He was so prone to exaggerations that it was easy to see through them and they made for a good laugh for anyone with a sense of humor.

His favorite tall tales were the random meetings he supposedly had with celebrities in the most awkward of situations. Actors, musicians, game show hosts… anyone with a familiar name could be used as cannon fodder to lighten up a conversation. He had his favorites, of course, and they were usually sexy ladies wearing few or no clothes at all. The details of each encounter varied whether he had drunk a glass of wine or ten, but they remained jokes through and through. Sometimes, he would go for something different, talking about accidents or near-death experiences but he could never stick the landing on those, so he stuck to the tried-and-true material, those little innuendos that made people smirk and groan, and he loved it

The downside of joking all the time was the fact no one believed him when things got real. It had happened before and it would happen again if he survived his current ordeal, which was far from assured.
