Paul screamed when he saw his younger self being enslaved again. No matter how many times he went back in time, nothing changed.
“Why can’t I save myself?” he asked.
“It’s a Fixed Point,” Jenna replied. “It will always happen this way.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“You will.”
He sighed and went for another round.
How this story came to be
I love sci-fi. I love time travel stories and I love to write weird scenarios. The concept of fixed points in time has always fascinated me. The idea that some moments in history are so significant that trying to mess with them could potentially result in the obliteration of the universe is quite intriguing, so I had to play with it in some way. The result was this humorous twist. Who knew a person who doesn’t want to be hypnotized and mind-controlled could be so persistent, huh?
