Caleb looked at the clone of him lying on the gurney and muttered,
“I don’t want to do this anymore.”
“You don’t have a choice,” Paula replied. “I love you and I’m not going to lose you again. Prepare for the consciousness transfer.”
“This is torture!”
“Not to me.”
A helmet lowered over Caleb’s head…
How this story came to be
Yes, I dreamed about clones last night. My consciousness was being transferred from one body to another for God knows long, and I was losing a piece of me every time. It was a weird and scary dream to be honest, but it’s quite the premise for a tale, so I used it to write this one.
