Time for Blood
The ghost hovered over Adrian’s head, exuding white light.
“She’s so pretty…” he muttered.
“She’s also going to kill you if she touches you… RUN!” Walter exclaimed.
Adrian didn’t listen. He stood, mesmerized, as the entity screamed and entered his mouth.
The possessed puppet smiled, imbued with a new purpose. It was time for blood.
How this story came to be
I mentioned recently I was watching two shows on streaming, namely the third season of The Witcher and the supernatural drama Manifest. The Witcher is already over and while this season was more faithful to the books themselves, there were still a lot of creative liberties I wasn’t thrilled about. With only one show left to watch, I decided to add another for a bit of diversity. However, I ended up choosing to go with another supernatural concept.
This time around, I’m watching Lockwood & Co., an 8-episode series inspired by the books written by Jonathan Stroud. I never read these, but I’m familiar with Stroud’s Bartimaeus books which I read about fifteen years ago (I’m only counting the three original novels, not the prequel). I have the titles on one of the bookshelves in the living room, and I really like them. I’m also enjoying this show so far. It has ghosts, alternate history, and mysteries galore, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously, so…
Anyway, I watched an episode after dinner tonight and I do love ghost stories, so why not write one for today’s challenge piece?
