So Cute
Gina entered the bedroom and gasped. There were twelve cats in the bed.
“More pets? How many times have we talked about this?” she asked.
“Sorry. I couldn’t resist,” her girlfriend, Rhonda, replied. “They look so cute this way.”
“You’re right, they do.”
The two witches laughed. They would be running out of neighbors soon.
How this story came to be
This piece came to be after watching my cat sleep on my bed this afternoon. As most of you know, I’m a dog person at heart but I adopted a cat last year after he was found near my workplace and had no one to look after him. I’ve grown fond of the little furry and he’s quite adorable in his own right. He now keeps my surviving dog company after last month’s tragedy.
Anyway, there are people with many cats in their houses and this idea was inspired by them, too. The supernatural element was a last-minute improv and I think it works just fine.
