As Sands Through the Hourglass – A Vintage Review

Today, I would like to reminisce about As Sands Through the Hourglass, by A Nony Mouse, a story that was added to the EMCSA on August 11th, 2001 (geez, Time sure flies, doesn’t it? Much like Supremacy which I mentioned in another post a while back, this was one of the first femdom hypnosis and mind control stories I read online, one I still very much enjoy today.

It’s a relatively small enterprise – less than 2500 words total – but quite pleasurable. The premise is simple: Juni, an old crush – and hypnotic mistress – pops up in Mike’s life again with a job offer he simply can’t refuse, even though he tries at first. There’s a bit more to it but I’ll leave at that to perhaps get you curious enough to read it after checking this post.

The best part of the tale comes in the form of a present she gives him to convince him to see things her way once more which is and I quote:

a large , gold hourglass, filled with blue, sparkling sand

I don’t know about you guys but I’m quite fond of hourglasses. There’s something quite soothing about watching the sand inside them fall and then turn them upside down to watch the cycle all over again. They’re quite a good metaphor for hypnosis, fractionation even, because it doesn’t have to stop if you don’t want to. You can do down, and up, and down again… always a little deeper with each new spin. I like hourglasses so much that I even used an image of one for the cover of one of my micro-fiction e-books, namely this one, and now that I think about it, perhaps it’s not a coincidence that the sand in that one is blue as well.

As I’m sure you’ve guessed by now, Juni uses it to ensnare him, something that proves quite easy seeing he was already under her control many years ago. Reawakening old memories and suggestions of yore, she reinforces them with a simple induction turning him into an ass-kissing obedient servant. It’s a simple concept, yet I love how it plays out, even more so because this is done inside a restaurant. Don’t you think the idea of being publically enslaved hot as fuck? A part of me certainly does.

The only thing I find odd in this piece is the transition from 1st person narration to 3rd person after a few paragraphs. In the beginning, Mike says things like “my time with Juni”, “I heard the voice,” etc and then all of a sudden we have things like “Mike called his wife” or “He looked around…” and so on. Once the story shifts in narration style, it remains consistent until the end, but I never quite got why that happens in the first place. It’s strange, but so is hypnosis and mind control. Still, it’s not enough to make me appreciate the concept any less.

If you love hypnotic femdom, never read this one before, and want to fall into something that’s just fun for the sake of it this weekend, consider giving it a try. Perhaps you’ll be ensnared by Juni and her lovely hourglass like I was so many years ago before I started writing my own erotic stories.

Thank you for reading.
