The box next to Rupert’s bed had a red blinking light.
“Is this a bomb?” he asked.
“No, silly, it’s a charger,” Emily replied.
“For what?”
“A mind control device that will turn you into my obedient drone.”
“That’s not funny.”
“It doesn’t need to be.”
The light went off and so did his mind.
How this story came to be
Another late-night piece because today was somewhat hectic at work. This was inspired by an old phone charger I used to have that blinked red when plugged in. A device like the one described in the shortie would probably be a lot more interesting though.
