Nice Try

Darla opened the front door of her house and was immediately confronted by a pulsating spiral projected into her eyes with the sole purpose of taking hold of her mind. She frowned and turned her fierce gaze toward the man at the end of the hallway. He was her husband but, most importantly, her hypnotized chaste servant, who more than often, forgot his place.
“Nice try, Frank,” she said. “But you should know by now that doesn’t work on me.”
“One day, it will,” he grumbled. “One day, I’ll break free from your triggers and you’ll be the one serving me instead. It will happen, Darla. I swear to God!”
“Whatever rocks your boat, hun. Have you finished the house chores yet or do I need to get upset?”
“No, I was busy trying to…”
“Wrong answer,” Darla snarled, closing the door behind her. No spiral would save him from his punishment now.
