In Print

“This is your idea of hypnosis?” Patrick grumbled.
“Keep looking, please,” Elizabeth asked.
“Fine.”
The printer continued running, bringing to life copies of a boring document. One by one, he saw them emerge, the colors of each new replica beginning to fade as the ink ran dry until everything went blank.
“Let’s begin,” she smirked.

Today’s piece was brought to you by my printer. The title is a pun that references the imprinting phenomenon in Psychology. Also, one word appears to be missing, but is it really? Have fun and enjoy your weekend.

Never on a Saturday

“Alexandra?”
“Yes, General?”
“Is everything okay? You’re not sick, I hope?”
“No, I’m not. Why do you ask?”
“It’s been ages since I heard of your exploits and…”
“It’s Saturday. I never hypnotize people on Saturdays!”
“Since when?”
“Since next Saturday,” she snapped her fingers, laughing.
She would say the same thing every single weekend.

Let me start by saying I never, never write anything on Saturdays. Of course, now you’re going to say that today is a Saturday and here I am writing something so… I hope you enjoyed Alexandra Ryder’s latest exploit.

Trust

“Carl, we need to talk. You say you want to be my hypno-slave and yet you resist every suggestion I give you. Don’t you trust me?” Andrea asked.
“I do. I just… don’t trust myself,” he responded, ashamed.
“That’s even worse. Come back when you do.”
She turned his back on him and walked away.

Today’s piece isn’t meant to be kinky, just true.

Trust is the most important thing in the world. Trusting others can be overwhelming but that doesn’t matter at all if you don’t start by trusting yourself, believing in your own feelings and capabilities first. Without it, how can you expect to achieve anything? How can you be surprised if your dreams never become real? Always keep that in mind, please.

The Accident

“Dan, is your report on that bus crash ready?”
“Yes, Mr. Jenkins.”
“Mechanical or human failure?”
“Human success.”
“Huh?”
“The driver experienced a hands-free orgasm, courtesy of an erotic hypnosis recording by…” he glanced at his papers. “… Lady Cynthia.”
“You heard that recording on your way here, right?”
“How did you know?”
“Go change, please.”

Something could have gone terribly wrong today but, luckily, it didn’t. On my way home from work, my bus was rammed by another bus at an intersection. The collision seems to have been caused by a brake failure. It wasn’t as bad as it could have been, but there were still scares to be had. Some scrapped metal, some broken glass, a couple of people with minor injuries. I was lucky to escape unscathed. The whole ordeal left a creative impression on me though and here I am channeling it in yet another piece of my year-long challenge. It’s best to laugh in the face of adversity than succumb to it.
