Kaella’s dagger shone red as she entered the bustling markets of Annazeth. Her property was near.
It was fun to give runaway branded slaves the illusion of freedom, but even better to track them down afterward and break their spirits even further. “Entertainment at its finest,” one might say.
Grinning, she began negotiating the crowd.
A little side trip into my High Fantasy ruminations, a random idea in the bigger scope of my unfinished Careth mythos. Perhaps everything will make sense one day but, until then…
Red Pen, Blank Mind
“Are you done, Lily?” Trevor asked, angrily.
“Yep,” she replied, giving him his manuscript back.
“What the fuck? This isn’t editing. You rewrote the whole thing!”
“You protest too much. Time to rewrite that, too…”
Before he could complain again, she began waving the red pen back and forth until all words faded to white.
Editing can be a painstaking job (I honestly don’t like it that much) but some changes are definitely worth it.

Earlier in the morning, I was walking with the dogs when I noticed a piece of paper on the ground that, for some reason, reminded me of a circus flyer. Eventually, I wrote this.
At Her Feet
“Enjoying yourself?” Ashley inquired.
“Huh?” Drew muttered, dreamily.
“You’ve been staring at my toes the whole time.”
“Sorry, I must have lost control for a while.”
“I find that hard to believe.”
“Why?”
“How can you lose something you never had?”
She tossed the sandals aside as he drooled all the way into a trance.
This one is for all feet lovers. Now, time to find a pair of boots for Ashley to wear…
