I Love My Pets
“God, I love my pets!” Theresa giggled.
“So you keep saying…” Meredith shrugged.
“Seriously, I love them all!”
“I know. You’re always full of love when you’re drunk, but tomorrow you’ll realize they’re just mindfucked slaves, all easily replaceable.”
“No! Take that back!”
“Make me.”
The drunk hypnotist won. She loves her former friend, too.
How this story came to be
I hate that my fingers are all itchy and swollen but I do love my pets. Mt cat, in particular, has been sitting on my lap a lot recently while I work on my creative side and now, he’s sleeping on my feet. It’s great.
This thought was the first influence for this one but there was another. You may recall that, because of unpleasant experiences involving alcohol in the family when I was a child, I can’t stand being around drunk people as an adult. However, I wanted the drunkard to be sober enough to take matters into her own hands, and this is how things played out in my head.
