Lucy couldn’t stop shaking. Her fever had already raced past 104 ºF, and it was bound to keep rising.
“Make it stop!” she begged.
“Only you can do that,” Claudia replied. “Do you acknowledge me as your one true goddess and submit to me for the rest of your life?”
“No!” Lucy spat. “I will not be your slave!”
“You don’t have a choice, dear. Resist all you want but you will break. Hotter!”
Lucy shivered even harder in bed, every muscle in her body begging for deliverance from the excruciating pain coursing through it. Of all the thralls Claudia had trained, she was undoubtedly the toughest.
“Hotter!” she said again, the burning trigger searing through the young woman’s forehead and flustered cheeks. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head. Just a few more minutes and it would all be over.
Claudia reclined lazily in her seat, fashion magazine in hand, and waited for the inevitable.
