“Surprise!” the ghost slipped inside his startled mouth. Sebastian fell to his knees and cackled.
Her new puppet was ready to play. Now, where did he keep the hammer?
How this story came to be
I saw a ghost tonight. At least, that’s what I think happened.
I was walking home with my dog after dinner when I noticed a young woman sitting outside a door. She was blonde, early twenties, and was wearing jeans, an orange jacket, and white sneakers. I blinked, and when I looked again, she was gone. There was no time for the door behind her to open, and she wasn’t anywhere on the street. I honestly don’t know what happened because it was only a fraction of a second. If this doesn’t scream supernatural encounter, then I don’t know what does.
Anyway, I stood on the sidewalk for about three minutes, trying to process what had just happened and then I locked myself in the house. I’m not scared but the strange experience startled me a bit. Naturally, it made sense for me to write something involving an apparition, and this was it.
