Excerpts
I Don’t Remember
Josh: Hello, Monica.
Monica: Hey, Josh. How are you?”
Josh: I’m okay… I think. How was your Halloween?”
Monica: It was quite fun. I had a blast. How about yours?
Josh: That’s what I wanted to talk to you about. I… Well, I don’t remember.”
Monica: Oh? How is that possible?
Josh: You tell me. The last thing I remember was talking to you before the big night and then everything became hazy.
Monica: I see. And do you believe I had something to do with it?
Josh: Considering you’re the only hypnotist I know and talk to, yes. And it wouldn’t be the first time you mess with my memories, anyway.
Monica: That was never proven, sweetie.
Josh: Right… Can we not play this game for once and you simply tell me what happened during our last conversation?

Intervention
Ava entered the living room of her apartment and smirked when she saw the group of people waiting for her. Everyone was there, including her parents, her older brother, a dear aunt, a handful of cousins, and two of her closest friends. Not even during Thanksgiving or Christmas could one see such a gathering.
“Why are you all here?” she asked as she kicked her thigh-high boots away. “What is this? Some sort of intervention?”
“That’s exactly what it is,” Jack replied. “Sis, you know we were thrilled when you decided to learn hypnosis because it was something new and you’ve never been much of a risk taker, but I speak for everyone when I say you’ve allowed it to get to your head. We are not happy and neither should you be. This has gone on long enough, and it needs to stop. You need to stop.”
Ava leaned against the door’s threshold, arms crossed, and stared at the quizzical and somewhat scared faces standing behind him.
“And you all agree with this?” she tapped her feet on the hardwood floor like an angry housewife about to give them a run for their money. “You all think I’m overdoing it?”

You Are a Drone
You sit on your comfy chair, staring at the computer screen, wondering what wisdom I shall impart to you today. Luckily, you won’t have to wait for long to find out. Let’s begin.
Imagine you’re staring at a beautiful rotating spiral. It can be black and white, red and black, or any other combination of two colors that excites you. Look at this spiral as it spins round and round taking your thoughts away with it. The more you look the more you want to do so. The more you look the less you worry about what’s beyond it or all around you. You just want to enjoy the blissful pleasure that comes with following its colorful lines spinning and spinning, as fast or as slow as you need to feel calm, content, and receptive to everything I have to say.
Now, imagine this spiral as not only being something you can see but also feel and touch. It’s on your fingers, it’s on your toes, it’s permeating your every pore.
