Excerpts

Choose!

The three ladies, as different as they were, had two things in common. One, they all seemed to favor his company, and two, they weren’t women at all, but supernatural entities whose existence was denied by most people living in this rock orbiting the sun. The first was a vampire, the second, a mermaid, and the third, a succubus.

They were standing inside his apartment, holding hands. After a lengthy discussion, the unnatural trinity had decided to put aside their differences for the greater good and that revolved around a simple thing. Only one could claim him and it was up to him to

“Choose,” Ashley declared.

“What?” Harold scratched his head when confronted with such an impossible decision. “No!”

“Why not?” Brenda asked. “It’s not really that hard, pet.”

Just in Case…

General Rupert Hayes stumbled through the corridors of the underground base, flickering flashlight in hand. Everything was quiet, too quiet for his own taste.

“Alexandra?” his trembling voice echoed all around. “Alexandra? Colonel Gibbons? Is anyone there?”

Silence. A blanket of oppressive quietness covered all the space around him. “Hello?” he insisted.

The old soldier continued roaming the empty hallways, wondering what had transpired. Besides locating another living soul in the compound, his priority was to get himself a gun. If this was an attack, he needed to defend himself.

Danielle opened the door that led to the courtyard and stared at the darkening skies. There were two moons above her head, one red, and one blue.

“It’s starting,” she said, the Autumn leaves rustling at her feet.

Another woman joined her, a timeless beauty with platinum hair and dark blue eyes. Sister by coven, Serena was anything but calm on a regular day let alone on the verge of the Apocalypse.

“Fuck! Is it already here?” she mumbled.

“Yes, and this time there’s nothing we can do to stop it.”

“Are you sure? The rituals…”

“… have all failed, sister.” Danielle stepped outside and sat on the wet grass. “All the other covens have already accepted defeat. It’s time for us to do the same.”

Yasmin’s Party

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!” Rachel exclaimed when her girlfriend came out of the bedroom wearing a slutty blue latex nurse’s outfit, fishnets, and shiny platform shoes.

“What’s wrong?” Martha asked, pouting.

“Is that really what you’re wearing to Yasmin’s party?”

“Of course it is.” Martha ran her red-painted fingernails across the lustrous, tight fabric. “You don’t like it?”

“I do.” Rachel gulped. “It’s quite sexy but…”

“But what?”

“Other people will love it too and you’ll be the center of attention all night. Couldn’t you have picked something a little more discrete?”

“Awww…” Martha pushed a strand of dirty blonde hair away from her viridescent eyes and touched Rachel’s lips with the tip of her right index finger. “Is my baby jealous? Are you afraid they’ll take me away from you?”
