First-Timer

Champagne bubbles.

The bubbles floated upward in the glass of champagne and Tristan couldn’t take his eyes off them.

“How is this working?” he asked, blue stare completely focused.

“What’s working?” Vivian smiled. His date for the night had promised him something amazing if he were to just relax for a moment but this didn’t make any sense.

“It’s like I can’t move,” he muttered, hands glued to the restaurant’s table. “I don’t understand.”

“It’s not a matter of understanding, dear. Hypnotic suggestions operate beyond normal consciousness. It’s all about the sensations, and the willingness to accept and let go. Each bubble is like a thought inside your mind and as they rise, it’s as if those thoughts are floating away from you until they pop and you find yourself going deeper, and deeper, and deeper…”

“Can we stop now, please?” he struggled to breathe. Vivian nodded and touched his forehead with the tip of her black-painted fingernails. The sudden pressure momentarily broke the stupor, allowing him to feel his muscles returning to normal. He shook his head and reached for the glass, emptying it in one gulp as if trying to reclaim everything he believed he had lost in the past ten minutes.

“Are you okay?” Vivian crossed her legs, a hint of her stockings barely visible under the multicolored towel. She already looked amazing in the tight hugging fit of a PVC bodycon dress but the fact she could do that with her words and a simple focal point gave a whole new meaning to that Saturday night.

“I think so, but that was strange,” he replied, filling up another glass of champagne while he tried to process what was going on in his head.

“Strange how? I’ve heard a lot of different accounts from first-timers in the past, but it would be great if you were to share yours too if you’re up for it.”

“It’s hard to put into words. One moment I was here with you and in the next, I was somewhere else. My body and my mind were two separate entities, but they were both eager to have more of you. Does that make any sense?”

“More than you know. Dissociation is a common side effect of hypnosis in highly suggestible individuals but you weren’t fully there yet. Why did you ask me to stop?”

“I was starting to get uncomfortable, sorry.”

“You have nothing to apologize for,” she touched his left hand and added, “You asked for a demonstration so I gave you one, but these mind games are only fun if they’re consensual. We won’t do anything you don’t want to do, okay?”

“Thank you. How long have you been studying this?”

“Oh, about ten years, give or take. I’ve learned a lot since my first experiments and had many wonderful partners as well. Do you see yourself becoming one or is this something you don’t want to try ever again?”

“I’m not sure yet,” Tristan retorted. “Hypnosis was not exactly the reason I liked your profile and decided to go for this, you know?”

“Good because I’ve had plenty of bad experiences in the past because of it. I almost didn’t give you the demonstration because I was afraid you would act like a creep afterward, but I’m glad I was wrong. You’re a perfect gentleman through and through, Tristan.”

“I hope that’s a good thing.”

“Are you kidding me?” Vivian gave him a beautiful pearly smile. “It’s absolutely wonderful. I feel much more at ease now and I hope we can do this again some other time.”

Tristan reciprocated the smile. The last six months of his dating life had been a complete disaster but this late twenties Goddess with dark brown hair, round green eyes, and generous curves through and through was a step above the rest and deserved his undivided attention.

“I think we will…” he filled her glass and proposed a toast. “To us and whatever the future may bring, with or without trances involved.”

“I’ll drink to that,” she nodded. Their relationship was off to a good start and would only get better from there.
