Charles whimpered on the sidewalk outside his former house. He had lost everything: family, fortune, friends…
“You still have your mind…” the she-devil who he had struck a bargain with fifteen years earlier, said.
“Why do I need that?” he growled. “Take it too and finish the job.”
“I thought you’d never ask…” she smirked.
How this story came to be
I wanted to write another supernatural-themed piece today and this was the first thing that came to mind. I keep saying not to make deals with elusive supernatural creatures but my characters never listen and now I’ve just lost another. Let’s hope his new Mistress is more merciful after destroying everything Charles once had.
