Evaluation Week

Dr. Lucy Kavanaugh sat at her desk, pen dangling from her perfectly manicured fingernails whose color was a perfect match to her partially open pink satin blouse. It was that time of the year again, Evaluation Week. She alone had the power to determine which operatives would be allowed to remain on the field and those that would be relegated to menial desk jobs or worse. The only one to escape such scrutiny was her friend Alexandra Ryder – a.k.a. Agent 47-D – courtesy of her more than hypnotic charms. If anyone was fit to go out and about saving the civilized world one kink at a time, it was definitely her, which is why she was assisting in the proceedings.

The beautiful secret agent/hypnotist stood by the main window of the office, tight leather pants hugging her ass, distant eyes focused on something beyond the horizon. She looked bored which was never a good sign.

“So, who’s next?” she asked, not even trying to disguise her monotone.

Dr. Kavanaugh laid down a paper folder on the desk, the picture of a burly man with dark brown hair looking at her. “Richard Evans.”

“Agent 35? I had no idea he was still with us.”

“Not surprising. He’s been working mostly in Asian territory and he’s hardly around, so I doubt your paths meet up that often. His last reports have been strange though.”

“What does that mean?”

“See for yourself,” Lucy handed her two thick files. “Beijing, last two paragraphs. Hong Kong, third paragraph from the top.”

Alexandra perused the indicated lines on each one, wondering why on earth he insisted on handwriting his reports unlike everyone else. It wasn’t exactly doctor’s level but almost. Despite the inconvenience, it was hard not to notice the repetitive patterns.

“I see…” she muttered and returned the files. “I know where you’re going with this, but I hope you’re wrong.”

“Me too. He should be here any second now. Do you mind?”

“Not at all but try to hurry. It’s almost lunchtime and I’m dying for some Pasta, today.”

Alexandra slipped into the adjacent room and waited. Richard Evans waltzed in shortly after, more annoyed than he had any intention of showing.

“Thank you for coming on such short notice, Agent 35,” Lucy greeted him with a handshake and a warm smile.

“Sure, Dr. but what’s this all about?” He asked, taking a seat.

“Yes, well… there’s no easy way to say this so I will cut right to the chase. I’m recommending you be relieved from all active duty effective immediately.”

“What? Why? I… I don’t understand.”

“I have reasons to suspect you’ve been compromised.”

“Excuse me?”

“Recurring language patterns in your last reports are consistent with triggered-like responses. During one of your last assignments, you must have been hypnotized by an enemy operative and it’s possible you’re still under their control as we speak.”

“That’s preposterous! I’m not the least bit suggestible as all my previous psychological tests have shown. It’s impossible I was ever hypnotized.”

In the other room, Alexandra bit her tongue not to laugh.

“Not suggestible, you say?” Dr. Kavanaugh remarked. “Perhaps you weren’t in the past but I’m sure you are now, and I can prove it. Why are you trying to look under my blouse?”

“Excuse me? I’m not…”

“Yes, you are,” she interrupted him. “You’re thinking about my breasts; how soft and warm they must be and how you’d love for me to show them to you right now. That would, of course, be entirely unprofessional, but you can’t help yourself and that’s why you’re trying to look under my blouse.”

“You’re wrong, I don’t want that at all. I want…”

“… nothing more than to see what’s underneath. Just the mere suggestion, the possibility of you being able to see my breasts is making you so aroused right now that all your focus is being replaced by my control. You’re compromised. You’re compromised because you’re being controlled by my breasts without having seen them. What do you think will happen to your mind if I take off my blouse right now?”

He squirmed in the chair. “I… what… how are you doing this?”

“It doesn’t matter. What’s important is that you’ve just made my point. You may have been mentally strong once but now you’re easily distracted. You must have been conditioned at some point and now you’re a liability. We can’t have that, don’t you agree, Alexandra?”

Hearing her cue, Alexandra walked right in, surprised at how easily he had faltered. Whoever had got inside his head before had done a superb job at warping his thoughts yet an equally sloppy one at not covering their tracks. Perhaps that was the point. Perhaps this new player was sending a message, loud and clear.

“I do, Lucy. The evidence is clear as day.”

“47-D? What the…? I don’t want to be mind fucked, thank you very much!”

“Rick, my dear, if I had a penny for every time a man said that to me… Oh, you will be mind fucked, all right! I will also break you.”

“I don’t like the sound of that.”

“You will. Right now, you’re a security breach but we can work with that to discover who compromised you to begin with. However, you must be put in isolation and receive special training to withstand further intrusions to your thoughts. It will be painful, but worthwhile. And don’t worry, I won’t make you kneel and bark like a dog again.”

“What do you mean… ‘again’?” He blurted.

Alexandra grinned, the keeper of beautiful memories he would never be allowed to remember. Lucy did the same as well for Evaluation Week had just gotten a lot more interesting.
