Enjoy the Silence
Daniel couldn’t think straight. His brain was really slow, ideas leaking out of his ears. He tried verbalizing his pain but the words refused to come out.
“Help!” he thought.
“No one is coming,” his witch girlfriend smirked as she read his mind. “Enjoy the silence. I know I will.”
He whimpered on the floor.
How this story came to be
Most people love talking, some more than others. We all have someone in our lives who’s always talking and takes it personally when told to shut up. I’m not like that. In fact, I’m known for being quiet most of the time. Sometimes, I do open up but it depends on the circumstances, the topic at hand, and whether I enjoy the company or not.
Anyway, today I met one of those chatty people during my lunch break and I wasn’t really in the mood to hear the story of their life, so I started imagining how great it would be if I could snap my fingers and make that person zip it for good. This was the basis for this one, but I used magic as the catalyst for variety’s sake. Silence is golden, right?
