Deranged Smiles
Deranged smiles were everywhere, and Jim couldn’t escape them. The men and women surrounding him didn’t speak and yet their eyes revealed the creepy truth.
“Join us,” they said. “And become one with Her.”
“No!” Jim screamed as the mindless thralls closed the circle to pass on their Mistress’ curse. Eyes going blank, he grinned.
How this story came to be

If you haven’t figured it out already, the movie I’m talking about is last year’s Smile which was creepy as fuck but exceedingly well done. It portrays trauma and mental illnesses unlike any other horror movie I’ve seen and the creature design is both disgusting and fascinating. There was one particular scene that I hated (animal lovers who have seen it know exactly which one!) and I admit a couple of the jump scares got to me too because I was watching the movie alone in the dark. Still, it didn’t give me nightmares or anything. I survived Evil Dead Rise and Smile wasn’t as gross as that.
Anyway, watching the movie gave me an idea which I’ve now put to use. I replaced the demon figure with a powerful Mistress hellbent on conquering the world one smile at a time. You can’t escape her, so don’t even try.
