Bonus Story – The Villain Inside His Mind
Bonus Stories are special features posted at the end of each month (depending on total pledges) and available to all patrons from the get-go.
The piece of this month is entitled The Villain Inside His Mind, a cautionary tale about addiction. Lucas is thinking of doing something stupid after Margo broke up with him but his stepbrother Jonathan comes to the rescue. This was originally going to be a piece of flash fiction but I expanded it to short story format.

Lucas glanced back to see his younger stepbrother Jonathan shivering in his boots. The part-time mechanic who dreamed of one day building his own race car was considered the most reckless in the family and yet his was the voice Reason had chosen to speak on its behalf that Saturday night.
“What are you doing here?” Lucas grumbled. “Go away. This is none of your own business.”
“You’re planning on taking your own life and that’s the best you can say? Of course, it’s my business! Please step out of that ledge so we can talk.”
“I’ve got nothing to say to you or anyone else. It’s all over, Jonathan. There’s no good reason for me to stick around, so I might as well end it now.”
