Bonus Story – The Great Purpose

Bonus Stories are special features posted at the end of each month (depending on total pledges) and available to all patrons from the get-go. Bonus Stories are exclusive to my Patreon for the time being. While I may decide to release them publically in the future, as I do with the regular Saturday Stories, for now, this is how things go.

The piece of this month is entitled The Great Purpose.  Two FBI agents investigate a case that may or may not involve a group of mind-controlling fembots. This is a parody of The X-Files which remains my favorite TV show of all time. Includes sci-fi elements and a few cheeky references here and there.

Special Agents Cox Boulder and Raina Gully shared a complicit look as they questioned Martin Higgins, a steel plant worker who was convinced that his wife was no longer the same person he had married.

“She’s been replaced,” the early forties balding man said, fiddling with an unopened pack of cigarettes. He was trying to quit, yet the urges continued to relentlessly assault his mind.

“What do you mean replaced?” Agent Boulder asked, his stern expression masking an attempt to profile the individual sitting before him.

“She’s different. Colder. There’s something weird about her eyes now. It’s like she’s not even human anymore. I think she’s a fembot.”

“A fembot?” Raina chuckled. Always the skeptic, she had heard many strange accounts ever since beginning her partnership with Boulder, but nothing as ridiculous as that single word that shouldn’t be even considered a valid English word. “Mr. Higgins, did you contact the Bureau under the pretense that your wife has been Stepfordized?”

“I don’t know what that word means,” he shrugged, nails clawing at the pack’s wrapping as if dying to shred it to pieces.
