Harrison got out of bed. For the first time in over a decade, he could walk normally.
“How?” he gasped.
“The chip we implanted blocks the pain receptors,” Dr. Mallory replied. “But it also leaves you susceptible to this.”
She gently touched his neck and his mind shut down. Blank today, blank tomorrow, blank forever.
How this story came to be
I did not have a particularly good day because my hands were itchy again. The chilblains have yet to heal properly but at least Spring is almost here. I honestly can’t wait.
I improvised this one late at night. The day was long and everyone in the house is sleepy, dogs, cat, and me. I will recover my strength in order to enjoy a relaxing weekend.
