A Will of their Own
The doll stared deep into Megan’s eyes.
“How?” she gasped. “How’s it doing this?”
“All my grandmother’s dolls have a will of their own, which is more I can say about you,” Regina grinned, knife in hand.
Blood splattered the wall, the sacrifice complete. Megan’s soul belonged in porcelain, one more toy for the collection.
How this story came to be
In the mood for something creepy and this one came to me after seeing an ad for that new science fiction horror movie M3GAN, which I’ve yet to see but will most likely do so, soon. Anyway, instead of a doll powered by artificial intelligence, I went with a classic horror feel in the form of blood magic, sacrifices, and whatnot. Transformations are also a form of mind control and horror is also a valid way to make it come to life, so…
