“Alexandra?”
“Yes, General?”
“Your break is over. When are you coming back to work?”
“As soon as I finish playing with my new pets.”
“How many are we talking about?”
“One hundred and fifty cute guys.”
“See you in August, I take it.”
“Make it September. Bye.”
The General hung up the phone and sighed.
How this story came to be
My break was over yesterday, but I’m still trying to find my rhythm again. I pretty much disconnected from everything for a week, so the energy levels aren’t there yet. It’s a gradual process. I know my brain will get there but I won’t force it because if I do, I’ll be sapping all the fun out of things, and nobody wants that.
Anyway, Alexandra knows a thing about breaks because she’s always on vacation and her “boss” can’t do anything about it. She whispered this one in my ear right now, so I had no choice but to write it. You understand, right?
