True Nature

Ruth had spider legs and was shooting webs off her mouth. Stuck to his bedroom wall, Aiden asked,
“I’m having a nightmare, right?”
“No, dear,” she smiled. “This is my true nature, but I have another secret to share.”
“What?”
“I’m also a hypnotist.”
The spider.like abomination pierced his mind as he was devoured whole.

How this story came to be

I had a dream last night that involved a creature like the one in this snippet. I’m not even afraid of spiders, but that thing was nasty. I don’t remember much of the dream except that but it was enough to get me to write this today. Are you scared yet?
