Streak
“Jim, wake up!” Marge screamed.
“What?” He opened his eyes, startled.
“I didn’t hypnotize you today.” She crossed her arms
“So…?”
“We have a streak going on. 300 days and counting. We can’t stop now.”
“So you woke up to put me to sleep again?”
“Exactly.”
Jim buried his head under the pillow and sighed.
How this story came to be
Don’t you hate it when people wake you up by asking “Are you awake?” I do. It’s a pet peeve of mine. There’s nothing more annoying than being fast asleep and then suddenly return to consciousness with that question ringing in my ears. No, I wasn’t awake, thanks.
Anyway, I hate that, but I love streaks, so this piece is for a good cause, right? Right? You tell me, really.
