“Why is there is a present on my desk?”
“It’s your birthday.”
“My birthday is six months from now.”
“Is it? Open it, then.”
He did. Inside the square box, there was an electronic calendar set for six months in the future. He blinked and…
“Fuck!” he exclaimed as time slipped away.
How this story came to be
I had a dream last night where I was asleep for six months straight and when I woke up, everything all around me was different. I don’t remember any of it other than this bit which I found fascinating.
I wanted to use the concept somehow but since the real details elude me, I had to come up with a new way to use it, and Alexandra decided to intervene again. Of course, since she’s quite a tease, this could very well be just a hypnotic prank… Who knows?
