Since When…?
“ASHLEY!!!!”
“What is it, Jack?” His girlfriend came running.
“There’s a fucking huge cockroach on the wall! Kill it! Kill it with fire!”
“Easy, boy! Since when are you afraid of cockroaches?”
“Since I… hmmm… I don’t know!”
“That’s great. Sleep now.” She grinned.
Jack’s head drooped. The changes to his personality were just beginning.
Partially inspired by a true story. When I woke up today, I spotted a huge cockroach on one of my bedroom walls. It’s quite uncommon for such critters to be around here but, sometimes, it happens. I’m not afraid of them so it didn’t bother me. What I don’t like is the diseases they can carry and that can be a problem. Anyway, the problem was taken care of and I hope I don’t see any more cockroaches in the coming days.
On my way to work, this idea came to me. The first draft was scribbled on my phone and then I made the adjustments needed after getting back. Personalities can indeed be altered via hypnosis. Not sure why Ashley wants her boyfriend to be afraid of cockroaches but maybe it’s best I don’t ask.
Elephant
Hannah’s mother looked disdainfully at the naked man lapping at her feet.
“Is what your idea of a ‘pet’, honey?”
“Don’t like it?”
“It’s no dog…”
“Yes, it is. Dog, cat, elephant… It’s easily programmable.”
“Elephant? What do you mean?”
Hannah snapped her fingers and his ‘trunk’ grew. Her mother likes it a lot, now.
So… yesterday’s piece had cockroaches and I’m happy to report no other critters of the kind have been spotted around the house since then.
Speaking of animals, as you know, I have two dogs. I’ve fed a few stray cats over the years and considered keeping one on more than one occasion but my youngest dog is particularly jealous and would never go for it. The only other pet I had in my care was a hamster more than twenty years ago.
Besides dogs, my favorite animals are foxes and if it were possible to have one, I would love it but that can never be. I’m also partial to elephants and kangaroos.
And now, if you’re wondering why I told you all that when there are no actual elephants in the piece it’s because my mind works in crazy ways, and thinking about all the animals I like led me to write this. Do you like big “trunks”, too?
The Final Moments
The liquid rubber oozed over Daniel’s thighs almost as if it had a life of its own. It crept to his cock and hardened, a black cocoon of nothingness slowly taking away his individuality.

However, today this one came to me and I allowed her to come forth. It could have been included in the Halloween event because of its slightly creepy nature but it fits the daily challenge just fine as well.
It’s Gone
Samuel walked around the main square distributing pictures of himself.
“Have you seen this man anywhere? Please, he’s been missing for three days! Have you seen him?” He droned.
Some passersby frowned, others laughed, but only one person was happily filming the whole ordeal. Maggie, a younger sister and hypnotist extraordinaire, laughed.
If you’re thinking this is another impromptu, then you’re correct. Hypnotic confusion is also a recurring theme in these snippets and I wanted to have another go with it. I wrote several different drafts, and this is the one I chose for today’s entry. Poor Samuel!
