Candles

I’m Sure You Will…

Andrew slumped forward.
“Ready for another?” Theresa snapped her fingers, immediately perking him up.
“Yeah,” he opened his eyes, gazed into the candle she was holding, and slumped forward.
“One more time?” She asked.
“Sure. You know, one of these days, I will resist your hypnosis…”
“I’m sure you will…” she grinned.
Andrew slumped forward.

I promised something more lighthearted today and I like to keep my promises. Today’s piece was yet another impromptu based on something I personally enjoy. Resistance as a whole is hot, something I’ve said a thousand times already and will keep on saying. Of course, the longer you’re exposed to hypnosis and hypnotic suggestions the harder it is to resist them so I don’t think Andrew will ever stand a chance. In fact, he’s probably kneeling for her right now. Don’t you want to kneel, too?

Birds

“Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near?” Nicholas hummed, not a care in the world.
“Post-hypnotic suggestion, what else?” His sister, Denise, replied. “I bet they’re blue this time.”
“Yes, they are.”
“And you want to be like them.”
“I do.”
“Fly for me.”
He flapped his arms helplessly while she laughed.

Unless you’re not familiar with the song at all, by now you should have realized this piece wouldn’t have come to life without the Carpenter’s classic song They Long To Be (Close to You).  You can listen to it, below.

I really like this song and, sometimes, I hum it to myself, just for the fun of it. For some reason today it made me think of hypnotic pet play and the rest is history.

What about you? What songs do you hum that make you think about hypnosis? Let me know in the comments below and perhaps I’ll use your song of reference for a piece next time.

Not Into Hypnosis

Valerie laid down her pudding and said:
“Your husband is still wearing his Halloween costume…”
“Costume? That’s who he is now.” Camryn smiled.
“A mummy?”
“Yes. When he’s entranced, he’s everything I want him to be.”
“Right… thank God I’m not into that hypnosis.”
“Are you sure? You didn’t like pudding until today…”
Valerie gulped.

Literature and movies often paint a wrong picture of hypnosis and hypnosis suggestions. They’re called fiction for a reason. I do that too in many of my tales but things aren’t as linear as “look deep into my eyes and… BAM! Now you’re my mindless slave for eternity and will do everything I command!” [insert evil laughter here!]. No, these things take time, patience, perseverance. It’s a crescendo, not an instantaneous deal but as long as there’s a will, the impossible can become possible.

So yes, many people can be made believe they’re mummies. Or dogs. Or statues, you get the picture but hypnosis starts with little things, small gestures, tiny modifications in a person’s way of thinking. Suddenly, something we never cared for becomes appealing. It can be a color, a smell, a piece of food…

I chose “pudding” as an example because I don’t like it (nor do I want to) but it’s simple enough to help convey this picture of “hypnotic baby steps.” First the pudding, then the slave.

Non-Consensual

Emily turned on Peter’s laptop, the spiral background coming to life.
“I don’t want to do this today,” he muttered.
“You always say that,” she replied.
“I mean it!”
“You always say that, too.”
“Hearing me say ‘no’ really turns you on, huh?”
“It’s better when you scream…”
Neither the neighbors or the police agreed.

A random impromptu. Even though today is my day off, I spent most of the day working anyway from editing stories to fiddling with book covers, etc.

“Consent” can be a tricky subject when it comes to hypnosis especially after a person has been conditioned for quite a while. Being “forced” to do something appeals to many people on many primeval levels. In fact, most erotic mind control stories tend to feature this type of scenario for that same reason.

I chose to use the idea lightly for the intimacy of a married couple is their own and no one should mind it. Sadly, we live in a world where it’s easy to mock other people’s feelings and take offense in moments of love that go against the norm. If I had a hypno-enthusiastic people living next to me I certainly wouldn’t “rat them out” and I hope the same goes for you.
