Selfies 101

When it came to selfies, Luke was an amateur, and Theresa an expert, so she taught him.
She taught him the correct positioning of the phone…
She taught him that it’s perfectly normal for a flash to flash all the time…
And then she taught him how fant-ass-tic selfie sticks are.
Sorry, I meant “fantastic”.

So… Twitter. You may have seen I have an account there. Don’t really use it much except for the occasional tomfoolery, especially when it comes to responding to some of the things my friend Romeo from DESCENT Hypnosis Radio posts there, as it’s a good way to bring my silly humor forth as well as my love for puns. Earlier today, he uploaded the image below:

I’m not into selfies myself but started thinking about selfie sticks, photography as a means to warp someone’s mind, and things that make me groan. Don’t try this piece at home… unless you really want to, I’m not going to stop you.

Her Dreams

The writer approached the Muse, carrying a club.
“I’ve come to claim Inspiration!” he shouted.
“Did you?” She yawned. “That’s great, but…”
“But what?”
“You’re dreaming, and you can’t really control your dreams, mortal one.”
She could though and, in her dreams, her feet were the paper, and his tongue, the pen.
Time to write.

I believe it was Jack London that wrote we can’t sit around waiting for inspiration, we need to give chase, and hit it with a club. His exact words elude me at the moment, but the general idea that inspiration is not just a stroke of genius, a lightning in a bottle, but the combination of lots of stamina and hard work, isn’t new. One must strive to be creative, and let one’s thoughts bleed out in whatever form they choose to take. Seeing I can’t properly live without this visceral need of expression, I embrace the challenge of creation, gladly. Rarely are the days when it’s an easy accomplishment, even when one is “in the zone”, so to speak, and yet the very act of perusing through the chaos of ideas, and make something intelligible out of it, constitutes quite the reward in itself.

Nonetheless, it has to be said I love the concept of Muses a lot. It’s heartwarming to conceive such fantastical beings in charge of helping unleash this creative energy onto the world. They sing, they whisper, they subtly affect perceptions and, next thing you know, a paper is filled with words, a rock became a statue, a canvas is drowned in colors. In a way, Muses are mind-controllers when one thinks about it, and that’s certainly a reason why they pop up so often in my writings. I have a Muse of my own, and we occasionally dance in the outskirts of Oblivion… she probably made me write the way I did, just now. Muses can make dreams come true, and don’t we all want that?

The New Track

Lacey’s first Pop album had only five songs.

1 – You’ll Never Know What Hit You
2 – The Follower Within
3 – Sleep
4 – Do You Love Me? (Yes, You Do)
5 – Answering Machine

Alan listened and slept, waking just in time to hear her message about the new track she was working on.
Slave to Music.

Keeping things simple today as my time is rather limited. The piece above was inspired by my love of music as a whole. It’s safe to say there’s more to the album than first meets the eye, but the subconscious recognizes it and acts, accordingly. I hope you like it.

Women's Day

For the Ladies

On International Women’s Day, Will did something nice for all the ladies in his life.
He took his sister to lunch.
He called his mother, sent her flowers.
He even texted all ex-girlfriends, including Debra, the Hypnodomme.
And when she replied “Thank you, Wilhelmina,” he blushed in shame for not bringing a bra to work.

Even though I celebrate women in this site every single day, I couldn’t simply let this date pass me by, could I?

No, I really couldn’t, and I didn’t. As a result, I wrote one of my slightly humorous takes. It should be said that what happens at the end isn’t exactly my cup of tea but this is a piece of fiction after all and, in fiction, one has the liberty to explore as many avenues as possible, especially if the base idea dictates one to do just that. I love women, I really do. They’re beautiful, powerful, and make the world spin faster and faster with every little thing they do. Happy International Women’s Day!
