After the Movie

The movie credits faded to black.
“Awesome!” Karen said.
“I hated it!” Jake retorted.
“Why is that, spoilsport?”
“Because it’s utter feminist drivel. Women will never rule the world. Oh, and mass brainwashing is bullshit, too.”
“Is it?”
They stopped outside the theater. Jake glanced at a flashing billboard and kneeled to kiss her feet.

I miss going to the movies but the pandemic screwed pretty much everything, didn’t it? When I have some free time (which hardly ever happens, nowadays, I do watch a flick here and then but doing it on the small screen isn’t the same thing although I suppose subliminal programming would still work. Do you want to see the same movie he did? I think you do. And yes, I altered the featured image above to match the story.

The Symbols Don’t Lie

Lord Asriel bit his nails
“What does it say?”
“It says you will be my slave for life…” Marisa Coulter replied.
“That’s absurd!”
“The symbols don’t lie, dear. Look!”
He did. The golden handles spun endlessly before his eyes.
“All I see are spirals…” He muttered.
“All you need to see…” She deepened the trance.

His Dark Materials is quite the fantasy trilogy, a personal favorite of mine. I first read the books about fifteen years ago or so. Then, I saw the ill-fated movie adaptation of The Golden Compass that flopped so hard at the box office that the other two books never stood a chance of being adapted. Just recently, I watched the first season of the BBC TV adaptation of the book series, and I’m looking forward to the second already. Today’s Patreon photo-stories were also inspired by it. Funnily enough, both also starred Mrs. Coulter because I do have a soft spot for sexy, villainous characters.

Anyway, in the books, the Alethiometer is a strange device similar to a compass with a series of different symbols all around. It allegedly tells you the truth. How? Well, you “ask” it a specific question by moving its handles to three different symbols that represent the different elements of the question you’re asking and then, it moves on its own to land on a fourth symbol which is the answer to the question itself. There’s a lot of margin for interpretation and it is said that there are enormous tomes used for deciphering the messages of the device for each symbol can mean a lot of different things. It’s quite esoteric.

The Alethiometer looks like a compass, but I always saw it as a gigantic pocket watch myself and when the handles spin, well… The two main characters of this piece are straight from the books. After making the daily photo-stories, it made sense to me to add another twist to His Dark Materials and this was born.

That Was Just Porn…

Her boots were walking all over his mind. Brandon heard each click, felt each painful stomp, and whimpered.
“God, what are you doing to me?”
“What you’ve always wanted…” His sister cooed. “Hypnotically enslaving you with my footwear.”
“That was just porn…”
“… And now, it’s real life.” She concluded.
Brandon sank deeper under her control.

By now, you know I love boots so writing about them is always fun. This is just porn though. I mean, you can’t make someone hypnotically crave boots, dream about them, obsess about wanting to worship them, and whatnot…

Yeah, right! It’s definitely a thing, but I’ve loved boots since always so…

Priority

Gary cut the supermarket line much to the chagrin of all the other customers.
“What gives, jackass?” A redneck grumbled.
“I have priority!”
“Priority is for disabled or pregnant.”
“What does it look like to you?” Gary rubbed his imaginary belly.
“It looks like you’re either drunk or high!”
“More like hypnotized,” Gary’s girlfriend chuckled.

This humorous piece was partly inspired by true events. I had to go to the supermarket on my lunch break and there was this man with a giant beer belly doing his best to cut the line. For some reason, this idea came to mind then. Have you ever been pregnant?
