I’m Not a Robot
“I’m not a robot!” William declared, but the curved screen said otherwise. The brainwashing mantras made his thoughts as rigid as his arms and legs.
“I’m not… a… robot!” His memories were collapsing, Evelyn’s programming taking over.
“I… Unit 30-M awaits instructions,” it said, arms to the side.
Evelyn turned off the TV and smiled.
How this story came to be
CAPTCHAS inspired this one. I keep having to prove I’m not a robot to access sites, check emails, etc. It gets really annoying after a while. This piece I came to me after I had to solve two of them in a row just to see if I had received a reply to an email query. I know I’m not a robot, but what about you, huh?
