If Your Mind Believes it…
Eliza floated above Jonathan’s bed, enveloped in golden light. It was as if he were staring at a Goddess incarnate, who was commanding him to worship her.
“This can’t be real!” he mumbled.
“If your mind believes it, it certainly is,” she purred, swinging her pocket watch.
The suggestion sank deep, and so did he.
How this story came to be
I was looking at pictures of goddess cosplay earlier today when this concept came to me. Highly suggestible people can be made to believe anything they’re told, including seeing things that aren’t really there. Controlling someone by making them hallucinate they’re in the presence of a living goddess seems a bit extreme, but it’s kind of hot in a fictional context, isn’t it? Yeah, I figured as much.
