Idiot
Alan looked out the window.
“Shit!” he exclaimed.
“What’s wrong?” Janice asked.
“Vanessa is walking her pets.”
“So…?”
“Her human pets,” he emphasized. “And your brother is among them.”
Vanessa gasped. Oliver was walking on all fours, entranced, a dog mask covering his face.
“That idiot.”
At least, she was safe… until the next day.
How this story came to be
This piece came to me as I was walking my dogs in the evening. A few houses down from mine, there’s a woman that takes her tabby cat on a leash every single day. The sweet thing even has dog traits when he goes about on his walks but doesn’t allow anyone to get near him. I’m not really sure how one thing led to another but by now you know my mind works in mysterious ways.
