Her Portrait
Derek was tired of painting, but he couldn’t stop. Not until his Mistress was pleased.
“Not bad,” she purred. “But you can do better. Start over.”
“But, Mistress…”
“Start over, slave.” She snapped her fingers.
His mind rebooted, another cycle of ink and sorrow. Her portrait would be perfect no matter how long it took.
How this story came to be
I’m not good at drawing and I certainly don’t know how to paint. If I weren’t a writer at heart, I’d love to be a musician because I can’t live without music in my life either. Maybe in a parallel universe things are different… or maybe not.
Anyway, just something that came to me as I was looking at some paintings from as friend of mine. She has the skills I don’t, and I hope she ges places.
