“Happy Birthday, Dennis!” Frank said over the phone.
“Thank you,” Dennis replied.
“So, what did you get this year?”
“Nothing.”
“No gifts?”
“Nope. I gifted my hypnodomme, instead.”
“On your birthday? That’s ridiculous!”
“No, it’s not. Her happiness is more important than mine.”
Across the world, his owner smiled. He had been brainwashed to perfection.
How this story came to be
It’s my birthday. It was a strange one because I was alone pretty much all day. Feeling a bit gloomy from getting older. I’ve said before that I’ve always been more of a giver than a receiver, and that still holds true.
