Lara could barely keep her eyes open.
“Did you drug me?” she asked.
“Yes,” Phoebe replied.
“Why?”
“It’s easier to enslave you this way.”
“But you’re my sister!”
“Stepsister. And I never liked you, anyway.”
“But…”
“Sleep now. I hope you’ll be more tolerable once your mind is wiped clean.”
Lara’s voice faded into silence.
