A Comment/Review on Daffy’s “Brought to Book”

2021 brings back weekly reviews/comments about other writer’r works in the scene although I wish to go back a week or so in time for the first one of the year. Today, I had the opportunity to read Daffy’s Brought to Book, a story I thoroughly enjoyed. Synopsis below:
Terry’s taste in reading matter has unexpected consequences for him.
Looking at this simple description immediately got me wondering what sort of reading material would the story would be all about and I was pleasantly surprised when it opened with a mention of “Choose Your Own Adventure” game books and the mesmeric fantasies often contained within as those played a major part in my early explorations of the fetish world as well. Vault of the Vampire is the one that stands out to me the most thanks to the character of Katarina Heydrich and while I don’t have my copy with me to make sure if the book entries in this story refer to it or not, it was definitely what I thought of when I read that so good stuff right from the start on my book (and yes, pun intended.) Caverns of the Snow Witch also has a sexy vampire enslavement scene so it could be that one as well.
Anyway, the story deals with the fact that Terry’s early fantasies brought about by such books left him with a twisted image of himself, translated into poor self-esteem. he imagines becoming a slave to them so many times that he effectively self-hypnotizes himself to believe just that despite not wanting to admit it and his counselor – Dr. Milton, or Stephanie – wants to address the situation and she does it using his own fantasy views against him with the help of Katie, a Psychology student/dominant woman that loves hypnosis.
I really enjoyed the way Terry was brought under, an easy task thanks to all the conditioning he had done to himself earlier. It was a nice little slice of fantasy and reality intertwining and that eventually leads to the realization that he will be on a path to real hypnotic servitude in the future and not just make-believe. Both of the female main characters are presented as nice and sympathetic and while I do love my fair share of hypnotic bitches in stories as well, it was great to read something lighter and with such a positive tone, overall. In fact, the only thing I didn’t like about this story was the fact that it was over so soon although there was still plenty to digest in it. I highly recommend you check out Daffy’s Brought to Book if you enjoy gentle femdom tales.
Oh, and seeing this started because of “Choose Your Own Adventure” Books and one of my favorite image creations since pretty much always was inspired by them as well, allow me to share with you once again the photo-story/manip below. Please enjoy.

CYOA-style books were a major contributor to the development of my fascination with mind control, and while ‘Vault’ and ‘Caverns’ are not referenced in ‘Brought to Book’, they were among my favourites, and were definitely included in the books Terry loaned to Dr. Milton.
FYI, the ones featured in the story were ‘City of Thieves’ and ‘The Keep of the Lich-Lord’ from the ‘Fighting Fantasy’ series, and ‘Inferno!’ from ‘The Way of the Tiger’.

I grew up with the Fighting Fantasy series myself and had all the books that were published in my country before the collection was discontinued many years ago. I’m not familiar with “The Keep of the Lich-Lord” because that one was never published around here though I do have a vague recollection of “City of Thieves”. I played all 39 that released here, some definitely more than once.
