Rock Paper Trance
Rock Paper Trance (55 Words Stories Challenge 2018 – Day 11)
“Rock crushes scissors,” Alan said.
“Scissors cut your resistance,” Diana smiled.
“What? You can’t go on changing the rules like that.”
“But I like to. Another go?”
“Fine… one, two, three! A-ha, paper covers rock!”
“Rock hypnotizes you,” she flashed her ring at him.
He sighed. He was never going to win at her games.
How this story came to be
A series of remarks yesterday at the Inraptured chatroom led to this one. Thanks to the dry wittiness of both conrad1on and I, Rock Paper Scissors soon incorporated blowtorches, bombs, and wire cutters. It was as silly as you’re thinking it was but it was certainly fun. After the jokes came to an end, I started thinking about a fetish approach to it all and, today, I wrote it. If there’s a lesson to be learned from this one is never play games with a hypnotist, or rather, do play them but don’t expect to win. 😉 Given yesterday’s horrific approach, something light and humorous feels appropriate now, don’t you agree?
Seeing I want this year’s challenge to be more interactive than ever, I would love to hear your suggestions for future pieces, themes to explore, etc. Anything goes as long as the basic principles of the challenge are respected. It can be silly, it can be dark, it can be anything. If you want to play along, leave a comment below with your idea. I’ll make note of each and every one, try to incorporate as many as possible in the future, and give you full credit for the inspiration. Until tomorrow.
If you like Spell… B-O-U-N-D and my efforts and wish to see them both grow, please consider:
