Fighting Fantasy No More
Ever since I opened this blog/site to the public, I’ve been mainly focusing on sharing my most recent writings (the 55 words FD MC Challenge 2017) with all of you, with the rest of the content available relegated to archive pages many have probably yet to browse.
Well, here’s the thing: over the years, I produced a lot of content which I’m quite proud of (and shared on many different venues) and I feel like some of it deserves another chance under the spotlight which is why, every now and then, I’ll highlight some of it around here as well.
Today, I’m starting with a photo-manip entitled Fighting Fantasy No More. This piece is a little humorous homage to the famous series of “Choose Your Own Adventure” books. The stories contained in them often portrayed scenes of mind-control that definitely inspired the fetish in many people. I know they certainly influenced me, somehow. I used a copy of a relatively recent edition of Creature of Havoc for the layout, but the foreboding concept is more reminiscent of Vault of the Vampire, namely the character of Katarina Heydrich. Remember her? The “drawing” is not a “drawing” but rather a picture made to look like one and the fact that the story paragraph is 317 isn’t a coincidence, as I first shared this idea on the Internet on the last day of July two years ago, the 31st of the 7th. What can I say? I’m a sucker for details like that.
As authors/creators, we all have our favorites. This idea quickly became one of mine. Perhaps, it will be to your liking, too. If you wish, Share stories about your experiences with the books in the comments as I’m sure you have lots of interesting things to say. Have fun.
