In 55 Words FD MC Challenge 2017 – Day 235

As it’s widely known already, my inspiration comes from numerous different sources, some of which, sometimes, I’m not able to pinpoint accurately.

Such is not the case with today’s entry to the challenge, as it results from an interpretation of a famous proverb (you’ll know which one the moment you read the short story), some thoughts about the state of turmoil plaguing American lands at the moment and my love of supernatural themes. If it all sounds a bit convoluted,┬átrust me it’s really not. We should all just forget hate and focus on the good things in life, with creativity and humor being definitely two of them. Again, no explicit reference to mind-control but surely you can read between the lines given both the theme and the characters in it. Enjoy and until tomorrow.

Devil’s Due

“Yes, Lilith?” The Deceiver came running.
“Didn’t I tell you to scrub the floor two hours ago?”
“Yes, Lilith, but I was spreading racial hate across the U.S. and…”
“Forget hate! Don’t you want to be a good boy?” Her emerald eyes shimmered.
“Always… Mistress.”
The devil isn’t in the details. He’s just pussy-whipped.
