In 55 Words FD MC Challenge 2017 – Day 135
In the last weekend, the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 took place in the city of Kiev, Ukraine and the spectacle ended going against the norm by awarding the prize to the Portuguese entry, a very mellow song, in direct contrast with most of the high-budget productions that shone under the spotlight.
Despite having won both the jury and televoting, a lot of controversies hit the Internet shortly after the show was over, with lots of comments claiming such things as “worst winner ever!”, “such a boring song” or “if I’m ever feeling insomniac, listening to this should take care of it in no time”, etc.
Personally, I congratulate the victors but, in the world of my writings, what puts people to sleep are hypnotic songs so let’s play a bit with this whole thing, shall we? Naturally, I had to change the script a bit and even added a sneaky countdown to it all. It’s a rather open-ended affair so you can imagine on your own what transpired afterwards. Have fun.
“… and it’s all settled. We have a winner, Europe. With 321 points and 0 chances of anyone saying otherwise, the victor of this year’s Hypnotic Song Contest is… Portugal! Let’s welcome the interpreter on the main stage to… oh, he seems to be fast asleep and… hmmm, why is his sister whispering in his ear?”
